Since the rapid development of traffic technology, more and more tourists chose the third world countries as their destination. The Thai government also realized the value of the tourism to the economic development. The Thai government developed tourism from 1960s, which is hoped to improve the economy.  With the further development of modern tourism and the market economy, Thailand established a special tourism administrative institutions to guide the development of tourism, which now is included in the function of the government scope. That is public-private partnership. The public-private partnership is a key factor of success in the tourism of Thailand for it has brought wealth and stationary to the society. This essay will firstly overview the development of tourism in the worldwide and in Thailand. Following this, it will analyze the development path of tourism in Thailand. Then the essay will discuss the form that the change took and the rationale behind this change. Subsequently, it will discuss the public-private partnership in tourism in Thailand. After that it will evaluate the impact of reform from the positive and the negative. Finally, the essay will give some tips to the managers.
